Could there be a Sex and the City 3?

Did the show's stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristin Davis just confirm a new Sex and the City film on Twitter?

It’s been four years, (that’s eight New York Fashion Weeks) since the ladies of SATC last collaborated for the big screen and now a conversation between Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristin Davis, aka Carrie and Charlotte, seems to have added more fuel to film rumours.

So, in case you missed it the conversation went a little bit like this…

Davis kicked off the chat by tweeting and image of herself and SJP which she captioned: “I miss you”. SJP then responded with a: “Me too you! Heard the news?” To which Davis replied “Yyyeessssss…. [sic] But I’m afraid to get TOO excited yet – You let me know when we can celebrate. XO”.

Hmmm, whatever could THAT mean?

These movie murmurs come days after Jennifer Hudson, who starred in the first SATC film, dropped hints that a film was already in the works live on radio. When asked if she knew whether another would be made she said: “I think it might be happening. Somebody just came to me talking about that. So if it’s in the talks, it might happen. So look for it.”

But after six seasons and 94 episodes what stories are left to be told about Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda? Well according to SJP there is.

Back in June, Sarah Jessica said of a third film, “We’ve never really had real conversations about it, other than that I know there is a story.

“I think it’s a really lovely story, but whether or not we tell it remains to be seen.”

Sex and the City creator Michael Patrick King also told Entertainment Weekly in February that a third instalment was not ruled out.

“Sarah Jessica and I both know what the final chapter is,” King said.

“That doesn’t mean it will or should be told, but I do think there’s one story left. Whether it ever happens is a whole other situation.

“But there’s four girls, and those girls are still in my mind. There are other stories to tell and characters that haven’t even been written yet.”
