Christina Aguilera has revealed the reason behind naming her daughter Summer Rain.
The singer had originally thought of going down a more traditional route, but once her daughter was born she decided to go for something a little different.
“Summer is a time of spreading warmth and light,” the singer opened up to PEOPLE.
“While rain washes away [it] replenishes and brings new life to allow growth and new beginnings.”
Christina went for a name that reflected her little girl’s spirit.
“I wanted her name to be filled with inspiration, love and joy,” she said.
“And that's exactly what she brings to all who encounter her. Her beauty and sunshine exude from within.”
The multi-award winning singer and her fiancé Matt Rutler welcomed their bundle of joy on August 17 and Christina has completely fallen in love!
Chatting to Extra the singer opened upabout how “blessed” she feels since the arrival of her little girl.
“I have a chill baby, she's just so calm and so easy to make laugh and smile, she's just a breeze, thank God,” she said.
“She's just so beautiful, these big blue eyes, she's just so gorg… very happy and feel very blessed having Summer Rain in my life.”
Summer Rain is also a hit with Christina’s seven-year-old son, Max from her previous marriage to Jordan Bratman.
“He's just so endearing and sweet to her,” she said.
“He's in school, he's seven, there's a little age gap. But it's perfect though, because then they don't fight over toys. He's the big helper and the big teacher, so he's awesome.
“He's just so loving and sweet. I'm like, 'How old are you?' He's like a grandma to her, he's just like, 'I'll teach you everything.'”
