Chris Hemsworth revealed his dramatic new physique on social media after losing weight for his latest flick In The Heart Of The Sea.

Chris Hemsworth is known for his super-buff physique. From his early days on Home and Away to Thor, his iconic role as an actual GOD, Chris has achieved hunk status time and time again.

But Chris’ latest role in Ron Howard drama In The Heart Of The Sea shows a very different side of the star, one we’re unfamiliar with.

Gone are the ripped torso and bulging, muscular arms, replaced with a new, incredibly slim physique.

Chris lost 7kg in preparation for the role, where he plays a shipwrecked sailor in the 19th century.

During a recent Twitter Q&A Chris, who has since returned to his more muscular body, revealed that losing the weight was the most challenging part of the role.

“See the photo I tweeted earlier,” he tweeted. “I don’t recommend it.”

He also told Entertainment Weekly that although he was “leaner than [his] Thor weight”, it was still difficult to drop the weight required to play the starving sailor.

“When you’re already starting off lean, it’s brutal to chew through that kind of weight. Every pound feels like a kilogram,” he shared.

Well, surprise! This is what Chris looks like now, after losing 7kg in preparation for his role in Ron Howard film In The Heart Of The Sea. The 32-year-old shared this shocking snap on Instagram and mused, “Just tried a new diet/training program called “Lost At Sea”. Wouldn’t recommend it.. #IntheHeartoftheSea.”

The usually-buff actor said that although he was already leaner than he was in Thor, dropping the weight for In The Heart Of The Sea was the most challenging part of the role.

“When you’re already starting off lean, it’s brutal to chew through that kind of weight. Every pound feels like a kilogram,” he told Entertainment Weekly.

Super-buff or super-lean, Chris is babin’ no matter what…
