“Ahem,” the Thor actor began the reading by clearing his husky throat.

“Work, work, work, work, work, he said me haffi,” the 32-year-old recited in a serious tone, just managing to hold his laughter until the end of the poetic delivery.

“Wow, that was beautiful,” said the radio host when Chris finished. “It was like I was at the Globe watching Shakespeare.”

“It drummed up a whole lot of feelings, emotions and past experiences,” Chris joked in response.

“It makes you just want to get to work, doesn’t it? Hear that, kids? Get a job.”

Rihanna, 28, and Drake, 29, have been linked romantically many times throughout their careers, with both stars admitting that timing prevented them from becoming an item. “It was at a really fragile time in my life, so I just didn’t want to get too serious with anything or anyone at that time,” said the Diamonds singer in 2010.

Rihanna’s Work has been sitting proudly at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for six weeks now. Her version – which features guest vocals from Canadian rapper and ex-boyfriend Drake – has ensured her fourteenth number one single and Drake’s second.

The catchy tune is the first single off her eighth studio album Anti, which was released in January.
