People magazine has crowned Aussie hunk Chris Hemsworth the Sexiest Man Alive for 2014.
The news came via the Jimmy Kimmel Show on Tuesday night when the late night host announced 31-year-old Chris would take over from Adam Levine, who was named the Sexiest Man Alive in 2013.
The Thor actor, who is the older brother of equally hunky Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth, was a bit of a surprise pick with many punters widely expecting Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt, or Gone Girl’s Neil Patrick Harris to take the coveted crown, but nevertheless fans were not disappointed with this year’s choice.
Although Chris joked that he had “hit his peak a few years ago” the humble dad-of-three seemed chuffed with his new honour.
Hemsworth told People, “I think you’ve brought me a couple of weeks of bragging rights around the house.”
He cheekily added, “I can just say to (my wife), ‘Now remember, this is what the people think, so I don’t need to do the dishes anymore, I don’t need to change nappies. I’m above that. I’ve made it now.'”
Something tells us the Chris’ wife, Spanish actress Elsa Pataky didn’t need People to tell her she had bagged one of the world’s most attractive men.
