Elsa Pataky and Chris Hemsworth are fast becoming the world’s hottest acting power couple, but to their children, they are simply Mama and Papa.

While in Sydney promoting her newest TV series, Netflix’ Tidelands, Elsa revealed that there is a lot of confusion in their house hold when it comes to her husband Chris – especially now they’ve seen his movies.

My kids still don’t [know]…like Thor and Papa…,” she told Woman’s Day.

“Like who is who? I can call him Thor but he’s not! He doesn’t go with the hammer all the time!”

Elsa, of course, is referring to her husband’s epic Marvel character – in which he has played since his children India Rose,6, and twins Sasha and Tristan,3, were born.

But when asked which of their father’s “character’s” they prefer? “They’re like “I don’t know!”,” she laughs.

During filming, Elsa admitted that Chris didn’t come to set, purely because he was looking after the kids.

And when asked if there was competition between the two, she was quick to point out they are a “team”.

“Chris and I run our lines together, every project that comes, we read it together and we just talk about it,” she says.

“There’s no competition at all, it’s more like a team. We understand each other so much and already, this one is so complicated [Tidelands], it’s just better to have help.”

Even Hollywood stars have awkward moments. Chris revealed on Instagram that shortly after this photo was taken for his birthday, “my son viciously attacked me from behind (due to his ninja training) and slammed my face into the flaming candles.” Ouch! (Image: Instagram @chrishemsworth)

Netflix have spared no expense for their first ever Australian original series, Tidelands. With a stellar cast, scenic filming locations and an eerie tale of crime, passion and all things supernatural – the show is already making massive waves, literally.

Ahead of its premiere, Elsa and her co-star Aaron Jakubenko sat down with Woman’s Day, to share everything from their favourite moments on set to what interested them in joining the project.

Byron Bay local, Elsa, who plays half-human-half-siren, Adrielle Cuthbert opens about how her kids respond to her and her husband Chris Hemsworth’s out-of-this-world roles and even reveals where they’ll be spending Christmas this year.

The 24-year-old joins Elsa (Fast & Furious), Madeline Madden (Picnic at Hanging Rock), Aaron Jakubenko (The Shannara Chronicles) and Mattias Inwood (Will), who lead in the mystery series, all filmed in Brisbane, Australia.

The series follows the mysterious appearance of a body that washes ashore in the small fishing village of Orphelin Bay, in what becomes equal parts True Blood and Twin Peaks, the all-Aussie mystery is no less spectacular than any other Netflix series and becomes completely bingeable as the story unfolds.
