Celine Dion has already lost so much to the devastating disease, so it’s come as a shock that another member of her family has now been diagnosed with the illness.

Her sister Claudette revealed the heartbreaking news to French magazine Echoes Vedettes that the husband of their little sister Liette, Celine’s brother-in-law, is also being treated for cancer.

According to the Toronto Sun, Celine’s brother-in-law Guy Poirier is being cared for in a home while he battles the disease that has spread to his lung, brain and bones.

Celine already lost her husband Rene Angelil and her brother Daniel to cancer within two days of each other earlier this year.

Celine delivered an emotional tribute to her husband with her son Rene-Charles by her side.

“My step-brother is at the Maison Adhemar-Dion and he is still conscious,” Claudette told the magazine. “My sister (Liette) is with him and she is very strong. People of the Maison are angels and they are taking very good care of him”.

The ward is named after Celine’s father, Adhemar, and is a palliative care unit. Adhemar passed away from bone cancer back in 2003.

Celine said she had been doing well on her recent appearance on the US Today show.

Celine’s brother Daniel was also treated at the facility.

Her family are asking for donations to be made to the Maison if they want to assist.

The 48-year-old singer had only just started to recover following her husband and brother’s deaths.

The My Heart Will Go On singer couldn’t contain her emotions when the audience welcomed her back to her Las Vegas residency.

She returned to her Las Vegas residency in February and recently appeared on the US Today show to talk about her healing journey.

“I feel wonderful. I feel strong, I feel good,” she said. “It’s been a journey.

“It’s been hard seeing the love of your life suffering for the last three years, it’s been really hard, but millions of people are going through this, and I feel very strong because not only did he love me so much for many, many lives to come, he gave me three magnificent kids, so much knowledge, stability, and confidence.”
