School holidays are the best time of the year for kids, and while parents enjoy getting to spend some more bonding moments as a family, it can be a tiring experience.

Plus, it’s not like the parents are getting a vacation as they still need to work and get on with things.

Of course, there are babysitters and daycare, but like every mum The Project’s Carrie Bickmore knows there is no way to avoid total distraction.

Last night, Carrie posted her usual profile from the news desk that she shares after every Project episode, but this time she included an honest admission about her home life.

She is wearing a glamorous Cameo Collective dress in the picture, but her caption reveals the truth behind her stunning looks.

“My tired eyes tell me it’s school holidays ☺️,” she wrote.

Working mums know best that it’s hard to avoid bringing your children into the office during the school holidays, and even if it’s only for one day, it can be a struggle to keep the kids entertained.

In her recent post, Carrie included a picture from her office that features her co-host Peter Helliar trying to work at his desk while her daughters Adelaide and Evie are sat on a couch watching a show on an iPad.

Sometimes, it’s a situation that can’t be helped, but parents can almost assure everything will be fine if there is an iPad present.

Carrie shared another relatable moment on her Instagram, and it’s perhaps one of the funniest candid mum moments she has posted to date.

The TV presenter opened her handbag to reveal she mistakenly placed a potato inside it in the post. It’s bizarre!

And that’s not lost on Carrie who was so amused she captioned the outrageous find, “The weird things you find in your handbag. #potato.”

The simple hashtag is the comedic nuance that seals the chaos off perfectly.

A classic mum moment.

Carrie’s comment section filled up with mums sharing their own mishaps.

One fan commented, “I found an empty snail shell once #lifewithtoddlers 😂,” and another shared, “Lol kids? I find weird stuff in my bag too 😳.”

School holidays are almost over, so hopefully Carrie can catch up on some well-deserved sleep soon.
