Carrie Bickmore has welcomed a healthy baby girl, and she couldn’t be any cuter!

The Project host announced the arrival of her second daughter with partner Chris Walker on Sunday, December 9th 2018 via Instagram.

In the adorable pic, Carrie and Chris are seen looking lovingly with their tiny new arrival, who they have named Adelaide.

But it’s the new bub’s nickname that really had our hearts melting.

The new mum wrote on Instagram: “Welcome to the world little ADELAIDE (or Addie as your siblings have already started calling you).”

Carrie ended the post writing: “We are absolutely besotted with you.”

Carrie’s partner Chris also posted the sweet first family photo, giving the Gold Logie winner a shout-out for her amazing work during the birth.

“Welcome Adelaide (Addie). You are a day old and already just the best. Addie arrived at 1:38pm yesterday and mum was a superstar. Ollie and Evie are in love with their baby sister,” Chris sweetly penned.

The gorgeous name could be a very sweet tribute to Carrie’s roots. The Project host, who is now based in Melbourne, was born in Adelaide, and it’s clear the city holds a special place in her heart.

Speaking previously to The Advertiser, Carrie said it was the quieter atmosphere that she loved most about the South Australian location.

“I know some people like to take a dig at how quiet Adelaide is, but that is one of the things I love most about it,” she said.

She continued: “I love that it’s not overcrowded and hard to get around. I feel calm and relaxed in Adelaide.”

And naming her new daughter after such a special place seems very fitting for the new mum-of-three!

The new baby joins two older siblings – Carrie’s eldest child Oliver, 10, who she had with her late husband Greg Lange, and her first daughter with Chris, three-year-old Evie Walker. We’re confident they’ll be proud as punch.

The new mum-of-three’s Project co-stars were quick to send their love with Lisa Wilkinson writing: “Beautiful news. Huge congrats. xxx.”

“Sending my social media love your way. A public congrats to you all,” co-host Peter Helliar wrote.

Carrie hasn’t shied away from being candid throughout her pregnancy, revealing plenty of the highs and lows – not to mention showing off her growing bump on our screens every night as she hosts The Project!

In November, Carrie shared some rather unconventional pregnancy photos with her co-host Tommy Little which had us in stitches. And if the images are anything to go by, it looks like Carrie was more than ready to pop!

The photo shoot included this particularly alarming picture!

A happy… family? There’s something not quite right here!

Meanwhile, back in October, Carrie shared a mesmerising video of her very active baby bump while big sister Evie watched on with her hand on her mum’s tummy.

The heavily pregnant Project host captioned the beautiful video: “Love a little hand feeling its brother or sister kick”.

Bickmore has also been frank about the joys of experiencing cravings throughout pregnancy, revealing her biggest weakness: Cake.

Sharing an image of a delicious-looking rainbow cake on social media back in September, Carrie wrote: “Another week… another cake baked 👩‍🍳(and consumed)”.

The blonde TV star said she had gone from craving hot chips and peanut butter toast, to a full-blown cake and baking addiction. On her radio show, she also proudly announced: “My name’s Carrie. And I can’t stop making and eating cake”.

And while there were plenty of laughs involved in Carrie’s third pregnancy, it hasn’t always been smooth sailing for the mum-of-three.

In an emotional interview with Anh Do on his show Anh’s Brush with Fame, Bickmore broke down in tears as she talked about her late husband and their son Ollie.

“It’s probably the greatest thing we ever did together,” Carrie said tearfully.

Ollie was born in 2007 and three years later, Greg tragically passed away after being diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2001.

Carrie spoke about how the arrival of their son helped them get through Greg’s illness.

“It was a really… it was great. It was a great thing for both of us to have him and to have that focus,” Carrie stated.

Carrie and Greg had a son three years before he tragically passed away in 2010.

Carrie then met Chris Walker, who she married and with whom she had her first daughter, Evie.

In a few telling moments on her radio show, Carrie & Tommy the blonde mum opened up about how difficult the first trimester was when it came to her third pregnancy.

“Until this week I felt so sick – 24 hours a day, like, I mean so sick,” she said.

“I didn’t even think I had the energy to work out… to even get my head around what was happening… I’m feeling 50 per cent better, which weirdly feels like completely better.”
