An autopsy of Bobbi Kristina Brown has revealed that being immersed in water, along with drug intoxication led to her death last year.

The daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown was found face-down and unresponsive in the bathtub of her home in Atlanta on January 31 last year. The 22-year-old died almost six months later in hospital from brain damage and pneumonia, having never regained consciousness.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office in Atlanta reviewed medical records, investigative files and other documents to look into the case, and found that marijuana and alcohol were also involved in her death.

However, the medical examiner could not say whether her demise was accidental or intentional.

Brown’s death is eerily similar to her own mother’s death, who died in 2012. She was found face-down in a tub of water following cocaine use.

Brown’s autopsy results were released on Friday, which would have been her 23rd birthday.
