He’s the King of Pop’s youngest child but he’s not a kid anymore and now, Blanket Jackson is making the brave decision to go by another name.

In the 13-year-old’s year book photo from the Californian school he began attending last year, after being home-schooled for most of his life, Blanket’s photo states that he now officially goes by Bigi Jackson.

Although he’s known as Blanket, he was born Michael Joseph Jackson and according to multiple reports the teen wanted to change his name because he was afraid of being the subject of torment at school.

A source told RadarOnline that he “changed his name informally from Blanket to Bigi before entering Buckley [his school] because he hated getting bullied and made fun of because his name was Blanket.”

They added: “He always thought that the name Blanket sounded so stupid and resented his father for calling him that.”

According to the source, when Blanket entered his new school he told them his name was Bigi and wanted to be referred by that.

The insider revealed: “Growing up, his school mates have always been slightly mean to him because of their jealousy over who he is and going by Blanket made him a much easier target for ridicule.”

Blanket lives with his brother Prince, 17 and their guardian and grandmother Katherine Jackson, 85.
