The Kidman clan have come together this Christmas for a joyous celebration before a heartbreaking farewell.
This festive season will be unforgettable for the Kidman clan. With Nicole bringing daughter Sunday Rose home to Australia for a rare visit and sister Antonia getting ready to walk down the aisle with fiancé Craig Marran, a host of special family memories are in the making.
But for parents Antony and Janelle, these moments will be ones to savour and cling to in the coming months, when both their daughters and their grandchildren head off to their new lives overseas.
Dr Kidman and his wife are used to farewelling movie star Nicole – who has lived the globetrotting lifestyle for many years – and have accepted that her home is now in Tennessee with rocker husband Keith Urban and little Sunday.
Yet this summer, they will also have to say goodbye to Antonia as she prepares to start a new life overseas with Craig.
Antonia has made the heartwrenching decision to relocate with her four children, Lucia, 10, Hamish, 8, James, 6, and Sybella, 2, to Singapore, where Craig is based.
Although overjoyed at Antonia’s newfound happiness, after seeing her through her devastating divorce to Angus Hawley, Janelle is said to be particularly distressed about the move, as she will miss out on seeing her grandchildren grow up before her eyes.
While the grandparents will no doubt be clocking up the frequent flyer points to visit both their daughters, those effortless catch-ups, sleepovers and afternoons after school with Antonia’s kids will be a thing of the past.
The close-knit clan will have to work hard to stay close – although so far, they don’t seem to have allowed distance to come between them.
