"On my birthday I said 'yes' and 'forever' to the love of my life," Bindi shared in a sweet Instagram post, alongside some truly beautiful engagement photographs.
"Chandler, close to 6 years ago I fell in love with you and every day since has been a whirlwind of adventure and true happiness. And now in an interview with Sunshine Coast Daily, the young wildlife warrior has paid tribute to her late father Steve Irwin, admitting that it was a "bittersweet" time.
"I do really wish that dad was here to be able to celebrate with us as a family," Bindi told the outlet.
"I think in some ways he is and his spirit lives on in everything that we do, and I always feel closest to dad here at Australia Zoo."
In fact, the young couple became engaged at the very place they met, and in a beautiful Instagram post, Chandler shared the moment with fans.
"Proposing in her very favourite place in the zoo, surrounded by animals, seemed like the perfect way to embark on this incredible new chapter in our lives," he said.

During her interview with the Sunshine Coast Daily, Bindi thanked her fans for the "love" she and Chandler had received since the announcement.
"People have been so kind and sharing so much love and that means so much to me," she revealed.
Of course, people on Twitter were just as gushing with their support for the couple.
Bindi's gorgeous engagement ring is a lab-grown diamond, made with recycled rose-gold metal, with a twisted band that has scattered diamonds around it.
"The ring captures the essence of who I am - with its vintage flare - and our life together," she said.

We're thrilled for both Bindi and Chandler!
