She’s faced heartache in sending her potential suitors home on The Bachelorette Australia but nothing prepared Georgia Love for this latest emotional hurdle.

Her beloved mother Belinda Love has been admitted to palliative care to battle her “aggressive” form of cancer just days before the series is due to finish.

Belinda was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer near the time Georgia was first approached to be the Bachelorette.

Confirming the sad news, the journalist’s family has released a statement to The Daily Telegraph.

Georgia has already faced heartache on the show.

“Georgia and her family are going through a very difficult time with serious family health issues,” the statement read.

With Georgia about to select the man who has her heart on the popular dating show just days from now, it’s unclear how this latest heartbreaking turn of events will affect her media commitments after the show.

The 28-year-old has previously opened up about her mother being a driving force behind her decision to star in the reality show.

“I’m doing this because I realise that family and love is what is important at the end of the day,” she said on an early episode of the show.

Georgia wants to find a love like her mum and dad have.

“I think, with everything you’re going through at the moment,” she said to her mother at the time, “I’ve seen what it’s like to be, you know, loved.”

“Seeing how Dad has been with you has made me realise how important family is, and having loved ones, that’s what I want.”
