Aussies are taking over the Golden Globes red carpet

If you’ve ever been to Los Angeles, you’ll know there’s no shortage of Australians lurking in the mean streets of La La Land hoping to catch a break.

Well, it looks like we’ve well and truly infiltrated Hollywood if these Golden Globes are anything to go by – there’s wall-to-wall Aussies nominated in a deluge of categories and we couldn’t be prouder.

From heavyweight Hugh Jackman to fresh-faced Samara Weaving, our secluded island home is definitely being represented.

Surprising approximately no-one, our Nicole landed a nomination for best actress in a mini-series or TV movie thanks to Big Little Lies. The series also scored a nom for Best Television Limited Series alongside her other show, Top of the Lake: China Girl.

The latest Thor installment was a critical and commercial phenomenon last year and we have all the time in the world for Chris Hemsworth’s subtle paisley-patterned suit.

Speaking of Aussie soap royalty, Margot Robbie is cinched a nom for Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Musical/Comedy) thanks to her captivating portrayal of Tonya Harding in I, Tonya.

No stranger to Hollywood ceremonies, Hugh Jackman has walked away with a nomination for best actor thanks to The Greatest Showman.
