The Bachelor’s Irena Srbinobska responds to speculation she and Locky Gilbert married in secret after referring to himself as “husband”

Former Bachelor and Survivor star Locky Gilbert shocked fans after sharing that he “wants to be a better husband” in a promo montage for SAS Australia.

Those six words triggered speculation overdrive, and now his partner and Bachelor winner Irena Srbinovska has set the record straight.

Taking to her Instagram stories, she shared a picture of them at a park, with a caption dispelling any whispers they’re hitched.

“And to answer everyone’s question… we are not secretly engaged nor are we secretly married,” she wrote. “Believe me when this guy gets down on one knew you will know about it.”

Of course, it’s not like fans would have been totally blindsided by a secret wedding because the couple has talked publicly about their desire to get hitched.

During an interview with Now To Love, Locky responded to speculation he proposed to Irena when a photo made it look like her $30k commitment ring by Larsen Jewellery was on her engagement finger and commented on their plans.

“When we take selfies with the phone, it reverses the image. We’re just travelling at the moment, we’re still getting to know each other. I definitely want to marry Irena but when the proposal comes everyone will have to wait for that one,” he shared.

Irena has talked extensively on their social media pages about making memories with their future children.

And it looks like they’re both on the same page!

“We have spoken about getting engaged, pretty much planned our next 5 years already and we would love to have some babies,” the nurse turned reality star said on Instagram.

“Ideally we would love 2 kids…hoping for twins. Locky is super easy to talk to about marriage and babies, he is just as excited about our future as I am.”

Even though their relationship looked nothing short of bliss in July 2021, Irena told Who Magazine how Locky helped support her through a miscarriage she experienced early in their relationship.

“During our first few months together I, unfortunately, suffered a miscarriage,” she told the publication.

“But Locky was my absolute rock and having his support made me love him even more.”
