Monday night’s season finale of Farmer Wants A Wife showed Farmer Lachie getting a second chance at love with winning contestant Belinda Reid.
But less than 24 hours after the big reveal, it came to light that they have actually split.
In an interview with A Current Affair last night, Lachie said the reason for their split was the long distance. He insisted it was an amicable break up, saying: “We gave it our best shot, it didn’t work out.”
Belinda, 35, lives in Victoria, while 37-year-old Lachlan’s farm is in NSW.
Telling TV Week, he said: “We were trying back and forth and spoke on the phone all the time, but the distance makes it really hard.”
He added that keeping their relationship out of the public eye before the show aired turned up the pressure.

“You virtually couldn’t go out. It was very tricky because you couldn’t just go out for dinner in case someone spotted you.”
Lachie’s also in another scandal after an ex-girlfriend Natalie Cepeniuk claimed they’d been dating while he was seeing Belinda.

He told Daily Mail these accusations were false.
This is his second failed shot of love after his brief (fake) marriage to Married At First Sight’s Clare was tumultuous as well.
