Angelina Jolie just revealed herself a big fan of Queen Elizabeth.

According to People Magazine, for a new documentary on ITV called The Queen’s Green Planet, the 42-year-old and her six children — Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and twins Vivienne and Knox — visit Namibia to highlight forest conservation, and the actress takes the opportunity to sing the praises of everybody’s favourite monarch.

In fact, she’s hoping to pass on a very important message learned from the royal to her own kids…

“For us to come here and say to the children, ‘This is why it’s important to plant a tree,’ that’s the biggest message I can teach my kids, and it’s something that they’ve certainly learned from Her Majesty and her message,” she says in the doco, according to the publication.

“They ask me, ‘Why is it so important to her?’ You know when you sit up at night in a tent with your kids and they say, ‘Why does the Queen of England care about planting trees in Africa?’ What it comes down to is, you say to the kids, ‘You know really, you don’t know her, you can’t understand all that it means to be a queen… You know she’s just this really lovely lady who really cares about people around the world, and she really cares about the future, and she wants your grandkids and her grandkids to be able to be running around, enjoying nature and other cultures…”

Angelina adds: “She thinks that really matters and I agree with her.”

Of course, this isn’t the first time the unlikely duo have been linked with one another. Angelina received her damehood in 2014 from the monarch for her efforts to raise global awareness of violence against women as the co-founder of the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative.

Angelina received her damehood in 2014 for her humanitarian work, and her efforts to end sexual violence in war zones.

The actress is now borrowing life lessons from the beloved monarch to share with her own children.

Over the weekend, the world was gifted a teaser for the upcoming doco hosted by The Queen’s trusted confidante and celebrated naturalist Sir David Attenborough.

In the heartwarming teaser, the two icons enjoy a stroll around the lush gardens of Buckingham Palace as they discuss Her Majesty’s inspiring initiative – The Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy, a conservation project which sees the protection of forests throughout the Commonwealth nations.

“Trees have been a part of the Queen’s life, all her life,” Sir David Attenborough remarks in the clip.

It then cuts to the monarch joking about a rather shabby bush in her otherwise perfectly manicured garden.

“That one we won’t look at it. Someone sat on it!” The 91-year-old deadpans as Attenborough cracks up.

The TV special also features The Queen’s family members, Prince William and Prince Harry, as they carry on their Grandmother’s conservation work around the Commonwealth.

The full documentary will air in the UK on Monday, April 16th.
