Adele’s charmingly honest apology to her fans

British singer Adele has had to post a tearful apology to fans after she was struck down with the flu before a concert and forced to cancel a highly anticipated gig.

The superstar took to Instagram and Facebook to inform those with tickets to her Phoenix, Arizona, concert that she would need to postpone due to a cold.

She wrote to her millions of followers: “After the postponement of last night’s show at Talking Stick Resort Arena, Phoenix AZ, we are pleased to announce that we have been able to reschedule this show to Monday, November 21st 2016, at the same venue.

“Tickets for the original show (August 17th, 2016) will be honoured on the new date.

In the video, a visibly exhausted Adele said: “I’m really, really sorry. I’ve had a cold for a couple of days and I’ve been pushing through it.

“I did my show last night and I loved it but I pushed too hard and my cold has gotten the better of me.”

The 28-year-old promised fans she would reschedule the postponed show and said it broke her heart to pull out when she knew so many of them would have flown from interstate for the performance.

“I’ve enjoyed my tour so much and cancelling shows has not been something I want to do,” she added.

“I’m so sorry to let you down. I know lots of people will be flying in from all over. It’s the last thing I want to do but I have to look after myself because I’ve got so many more shows to do.”
