Naomi Watts.

Naomi Watts was last night unveiled as the latest L’Oreal Paris ambassador joining a prestigious list of women from around the globe.

Watts, 46, was named at an exclusive dinner in Paris before some of the world’s leading beauty writers.

Wearing a classic black tuxedo pant suit, Watts was introduced by Cyril Chapuy, Global Brand President or L’Oreal Paris who praised her as a leading actor of her generation.

Watts, like the many ambassadors before her, said it was a privilege to represent a company with the iconic slogan ‘Because You’re Worth It.’

Other brand ambassadors include Jane Fonda, Eva Longoria, Julianne Moore, Aimee Mullins, Doutzen Kroes, Barbara Palvin and in Australia Megan Gale.

L’Oreal Paris is the world’s largest cosmetics company with an estimated 60 ambassadors all over the world.

In recent years the range of women chosen to represent its brands has broadened as cosmetic companies fight to be relevant to women of all ages.

Representatives said Watts, a successful woman and a mother of two, was a perfect fit for a modern cosmetic company which pitches itself to women of all ages.

Watts, who was born in England but raised in Australia is married to actor Liev Schreiber. She has twice been nominated for an Academy Award.
