We asked 97 women with sensitive skin to trial Kenkay’s specialist moisturisers and here are their honest reviews

And – drumroll please! – the verdict is in.

Nobody wants to have sensitive skin. If we could opt out, we would! However, skin sensitivity is a common problem amongst women across Australia.

Some people are born with naturally sensitive skin – for example, if you have an underlying condition like eczema or rosacea. For others, their skin is prone to flare ups brought on by the environment (think: winter, air-conditioning, fragrance and dust), hormones or over-using products laden with harsh acids.

Fortunately, Kenkay has a solution. A mainstay on the Australian beauty market since 1983, Kenkay’s extra relief range has been specifically formulated for dry and sensitive skin conditions including mild eczema and dermatitis. Kenkay Extra Relief Moisturising Cream contains a generous base of moisturising glycerin, added aloe vera and sunflower oil to help restore the skin’s barrier and ease the discomfort associated with very dry skin. Whereas Kenkay Sorbolene Cream with 10% Vegetable Glycerin is a fragrance free product suitable for even the most sensitive of skin types, and can be used as a gentle cleanser or moisturiser.

Kenkay Sorbolene Cream with 10% Vegetable Glycerin, $ 3.35 at Pharmacy Online; Kenkay Extra Relief Moisturising Cream, $ 9.95 at Pharmacy Online.

For skin that is sensitive, reactive or more temperamental than your teenage son, Kenkay products are the real deal. Recently, Beautyheaven asked 97 women to review the products on their sensitive skin. Overall, both products received a 4.5 star rating. The Beautyheaven trial team found that:

• 96% of participants would recommend Kenkay to a friend

• 94% of participants would use Kenkay Sorbolene/Extra Relief again

• 95% of participants would be interested in trialing other Kenkay products.

Don’t just take our word for it, take a look at some of the product’s raving reviews:

“If you are looking for a multipurpose cream then I would recommend Kenkay Sorbolene Cream with 10% Vegetable Glycerin. It is well priced and it can be used for many different things. I have used this as a body moisturiser as the cream has a nice consistency, rubs into the skin easily, absorbs well and yet still feels lightweight onto my skin. Since it is fragrance free and contains 10% vegetable glycerin, it’s incredibly hydrating and great for those with dry, sensitive and eczema prone skin. I can use it all over my body with no problem. No irritation or stinging even when I use it on areas of my body that have eczema. I have used it as well for washing my body when my skin was really sunburnt and incredibly dry and sensitive. It cleanses the skin but does not strip it of its natural oils. Instead, it leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated. The tube format is easy to use, hygienic and portable so I can keep it in my bag and use throughout the day.”

“My skin is dry, it used to always be combination but over the past few years it has become very dry, especially my cheeks and forehead to the point where it would be very uncomfortable. I have searched high and low for the perfect moisturiser. Kenkay Extra Relief Moisturising Cream is perfect for my dry knees, legs, and even feet when I have done a lot of gardening and they are dry and peeling. I actually even use it on my face and don’t break out. I have started using it on my daughter’s skin as well and even they can see the difference. I definitely will be making this part of my skincare regime now.”
