Reese’s beauty secrets

Oscar winner, style icon and mother-of-two, gorgeous Reese Witherspoon also recently became the first ever Avon Global Ambassador. Not only is she the spokeswoman for Avon’s beauty brands, she’s also become the honorary chairwoman of the Avon Foundation, a charity initiative that focuses on breast cancer, domestic violence and emergency relief for women. How does 31-year-old Reese manage to fit it all in to her busy life and still have time to look so great? This week in Woman’s Day we reveal her working-mum beauty secrets.

How would you describe your make-up style?

Quick! I like to keep things quick and easy so I can be up and out in five minutes. I think you have to be when you have kids. You have to be ready to go all the time.

Did your mother or grandmother give you any beauty tips?

I think the thing I wish I’d heard was, “Wear more sunscreen!”

How has your skin changed from your twenties to your thirties?

Those things you think you need at 15 obviously change in your twenties and, now that I’m in my thirties, it’s definitely different. Skincare and sun protection are the biggest things for me.

Do you believe being a beauty and style icon gives you the power to make a difference in people’s lives?

Absolutely … through making them feel good and through building their self-esteem. Avon does a great job of that — not only through the beauty products, but in working with a foundation that supports women’s causes and things they are most concerned about.

Why did you want to become involved in the Avon Foundation?

I feel a great responsibility to give back to society. I’m lucky and privileged to have an opportunity to be able to work with a company that reaches out and changes women’s lives — and globally. It’s like a big international family and a way to reach many women across the world.
