The Queen only wears THIS nail polish and it’s cheap as chips

A real bargain for under $20.
Queen Elizabeth

Prepare your royal handmaiden, one of Queen Elizabeth’s beauty secrets has been revealed.

Famous for not promoting or endorsing specific brands (with the exception of Royal Warrant’s given to those who supply goods or services to the Queen or another member of the royal family), it has been revealed that the Queen will only wear one shade of nail polish – Essie Ballet Slippers.

The colour chosen by the Queen. $16.95, essie.com

According to the Essie website, in 1989 “Queen Elizabeth’s hairdresser sends essie [brand founder Essie Weingarten] a letter requesting ballet slippers – the only color Her Majesty would wear.”

However, we were unable to find anymore information to confirm this, but we can understand if they Queen was particular to this shade.

Ballet Slippers is a sheer pale pink, and would complement many of the Queen’s bold and colourful outfits. The neutral colour is easy to wear, and would give her nails a natural sheen without looking garish – the horror!

Essie is obviously a royal family favourite, as also on their website, Essie reports it was the brand “Chosen by Princess Catherine Middleton on the day of her marriage.”

No word yet if she also chose the approved colour Ballet Slippers.

One needs a great manicure for their big day.

The Queen’s other beauty brands include Clarins and Elizabeth Arden, who both are Royal Warrants holders.

Clarins has been the brand of choice for the monarch since her coronation in 1952, when she commissioned the French company to make a personalised shade of lipstick to match the ceremonial robes she wore.

The luxury brand has also revealed the Queen is a hand of their Hand and Nail Treatment Cream, but won’t comment on her current favorite lipstick colour.

Maybe some royal secrets are best kept hidden.
