There’s no doubt this year’s Australian Open has been one to remember with two-time grand slam winner Lleyton Hewitt farewelling his professional tennis career.

The Weekly’s health and beauty director, Sheree Mutton went courtside to chat with some of the stars and even managed to squeeze in some off-court pampering.

Sitting next to Australian Open 2014 champion, Li Na, it’s obvious that life has changed dramatically for the Chinese tennis star in just two years. The 33-year-old, who achieved a career-high ranking of world No. 2 on the WTA Tour, has returned for the first time since her retirement and becoming a new mother to daughter, Alisa, last year.

“Every time I come to Australia, I feel at home,” she says. “It is quite a big change for me over the past two years. I was a professional sportswoman and now I have my new baby. God has given me the best gift in the world.”

Although Li Na doesn’t play much tennis any more (she tells me the last time she played she got a large blister), the Blackmores’ global health ambassador still manages to lead an active lifestyle.

“I pay a lot of attention to my diet,” she says. “If you’re too busy for the gym, there are other ways to exercise and keep healthy.”

As for her top picks for this year’s Open, Li Na says the world number ones – Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams – will be hard to beat.

Don’t forget! If you’re visiting the Australian Open make a visit to the Jurlique Spa Lounge for some pre or post-match pampering.
