MAFS’ Simon has a message for haters who slammed Alene over his new ‘do

And he reveals what he really thinks of his dramatic makeover.
Simon Married at First Sight

When Simon debuted his fancy new ‘do on Married at First Sight, not everyone was thrilled his wife Alene had used her “Surrender Date” powers to make him do it.

The backlash online was pretty heated and despite Simon himself stating it was “a definite nice change” in his piece to camera, the scathing comments raged on.

Now, nice guy Simon has made further comment about his fresh cut and it’s safe to say he still pretty chuffed with just how good he looks (as are we, buddy).

“Well as the saying goes, a change is just as good as a holiday. Not only did I get to go on one with a lovely lady but I also had her give me some hints and tips on how to present myself better. I still am the same person though,” he told Now To Love.

Simon's makeover on Married at First Sight

Before and after, same Simon just with a fancier ‘do.

In fact, he doesn’t regret chopping off her curly mop of hair for one second said he’d even been considering getting a trim a few weeks before as it had “been about two or three years so it was about time.”

“Before I had the makeover I was so busy just working all the time,” he says, explaining working odd hours running his business meant he put personal grooming on the back-burner.

“Now I can say I feel good when I go to visit my clients and in particular my family.”

Alene was shocked at first sight when she saw Simon’s hair at the alter.

The biggest perk? The chemistry between him and his reality TV wife.

“Most of all I know when I see Alene she likes even more what and who she sees.”

Chemistry between the couple is now off the charts.

When it comes to the online backlash, Simon just cannot understand what all the fuss is about and he has a message for those so-called fans:

“Consider this, folks: no-one is perfect and sometimes advice from an outside source can be the best you can receive be it negative or positive. I don’t let petty things like that get to me as I have more important things in my life to worry about.”

“Don’t go giving Alene a hard time as what has she done wrong? She brought out the better of me I say.”
