Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban proved that they love and support Australia even when they're far away from our sunny shores.

Keith is currently on tour in Cincinnati but the A-list couple appeared in a video message on Today's Farm Aid Telethon to donate a whopping $100,000 to support struggling Australian farmers during the current drought.

She'll always be a country girl at heart.

Speaking in the clip, country singer Keith said, "We wish we could be with you today but I'm on tour, but it is very important for us to be a part of this today and do our bit for the farmers."

"We love Australia and we realise that there's been a crippling drought crisis and the rural communities are doing it really, really hard right now so we want to do our bit.

"We would like to donate $100,000 to the Farm Aid Telethon and we're asking anybody else out there that would like to give anything, this is the way in which you can give."

Nicole, who grew up in Sydney, admits she'll always be a country girl at heart, and she's not the only Australian celebrity supporting the drought relief.

Grant Denyer and his wife Cheryl work closely with Rural Aid, who help out rural communities in need when times are tough.

In July, Grant shared an image of their 11-hectare farm in Bathurst revealing how dry and barren it had become due to the drought.

"My wife took this photo of our backyard and paddocks. So dry, kangaroos are drinking out of our dog bowl. We're lucky we don't rely on the farm for income but so many in regional Australia do. It's so sad. In many places it's the worst drought since records began," he captioned the picture.
