There’s no doubt about it: Serena Williams is a woman of strength, power and determination – attributes that she wishes to impart on her baby-to-be.

Appearing in a campaign video for Berlei during her final stage of her pregnancy, Serena has let her fans in on the dreams she holds close for her unborn child.

She says, speaking to her baby, holding her beautiful, growing baby bump:

“You’re one in a million.”

“One in six million, even.”

“Flawed but flawless.”

“Human.”

“Be yourself.”

“Trust yourself.”

“You’re all you ever need to be.”

“And I can’t wait to meet you.”

Of the touchingly emotive video, which is aimed at encouraging the next generation to truly invest in themselves, Serena states: “Regardless of whether I have a daughter or not, my hope and Berlei’s hope for the next 100 years of women is they start their journey with self-belief and the confidence to self-invest, self-prioritise and self-nurture.”

This moving clip comes just four months after Serena took to Snapchat to announce to the world that she was pregnant with her first child with Reddit co-founder, and her fiancé, Alexis Ohanian.

The undisputed queen of tennis revealed the exciting news with the below image of herself, captioned: “20 weeks.”

On the left, Serena showing off her 20-week bump. On the right, a pregnant Serena owning the Australian Open earlier this year.

The image, which has since been deleted, shows the athlete pose side-on while wearing a bright yellow one-piece swimsuit.

In case you needed further evidence of this tennis champ’s superhuman abilities (or a little helping hand with your calculations), that means the 23-time Grand Slam winner was approximately eight weeks pregnant when she took home yet another title at the 2017 Australian Open in Melbourne.

This is a woman who certainly personifies the word “strong”.
