Princess Eugenie’s Instagram account is a treasure trove of never-before-seen photos of the royal family, as well as an insider’s view into life as a royal.

The 28-year-old’s most recent post is possibly her most candid yet, as she took to image sharing app to mark Father’s Day in the UK on Sunday. The photo shows a young Eugenie and her sister Beatrice, both planting a kiss on their father Prince Andrew’s cheeks.

The Princess, who is due to marry her fiancé Jack Brooksbank later this year, captioned the adorable picture simply, “Happy Father’s Day”.

The black and white snap appears to have been taken before or after a formal event as Prince Andrew is wearing a suit and tie while his daughters are wearing dresses and matching bows in their hair.

Fans of the royal family loved the rare glimpse into Prince Andrew and his daughter’s private lives.

“The most precious photo ever!” commented a thrilled royalist.

“Great photo of a great father,” wrote another.

Princess Eugenie and her father obviously share a strong bond. Last weekend, the bride-to-be shared a proud photo of her dad wearing his new military uniform for the first time, after taking part in Trooping the Colour – a celebration honouring The Queen’s birthday.

“A wonderful and proud day celebrating Her Majesty’s birthday and @hrhthedukeofyork for his first Trooping the Colour as Colonel in Chief of the Grenadier Guards. #troopingthecolour,” she wrote alongside the photo of her father posing in the palace.

While Meghan Markle (sadly) closed all her social media accounts upon becoming a royal, in March, Princess Eugenie signed up to Instagram, which had us wondering, why is Princess Eugenie on Instagram and Meghan Markle isn’t?

Well, like most things in the Royal Family it all comes down to rank and where Eugenie falls in line to the throne.

Because Princess Eugenie of York isn’t a full-time royal, and has to earn a living with a regular nine-to-five life like us normal folk, it’s believed she’s allowed to run her own social media accounts as she isn’t trying to portray the same message as top-tier roles.

We’re thrilled by the snap-happy princess’s social media profile, any glimpse into royal family life gets a ‘like’ from us!
