Prince Harry follows in Diana’s footsteps with his latest engagement

The 32-year-old royal is bringing awareness to an important issue that his late mother championed many years prior.

On Tuesday, Prince Harry followed in the footsteps of his late mother as he paid a visit to the Leicestershire Aids Support Service (LASS).

The charity, which is located around two-and-a-half hours north of London, was visited by the 32-year-old’s mother some 26 years earlier in November, 1991.

One volunteer, who was able to recall the Princess’ visit, said of Harry’s appearance: “It shows he’s got a good heart, like his mum.”

While at the centre, Prince Harry was shown a signed photograph of his late mother from her visit to the LASS, all those years ago.

He also viewed the “panel of purses” – a memorial wall launched by Diana, with the aim of honouring those who died from the disease. Each purse adhered to the wall represents an individual who had died from HIV/AIDS and contains a special memento celebrating their life.

Harry’s visit to the charity – which strives to raise HIV awareness and provide information, advice, support and advocacy services for people who are living with or affected by HIV – marks its 30th anniversary this year.

The royal also took part in a game of “sperm and ladders.”

The game, which echoes the rules and structure of snakes and ladders, was designed to educate players on their sexual health. But the prince needed a little helping in hand, admitting, “I haven’t played snakes and ladders for a long time.”

Harry also took the time to speak about the centre’s important work, explaining that further education is key in the fight against the disease.

“It cannot be acceptable that the first time young people know what HIV is is when they catch it,” he said.

“Even if you are nowhere near an at-risk group you should get tested, to show everyone it’s OK.”

It was a busy day for the much-loved royal, who also managed to squeeze in a visit to two other local services while in the city of Leicester: Yes You Can and the Pink Lizard.

Harry looked amused with the playfully-titled gamed!

After a spot of lunch, Prince Harry unveiled a plaque commemorating his visit to LASS and the centre’s 30th birthday.

Prince Harry recently made headlines after he was seen to leave a lucky group of schoolgirls giggling.

Of the 70 flag-waving students, who were invited to meet with the royal after the Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey, there was one particular young lady who left an impression on the much-loved royal.

It’s reported that Tiya Thornton, 12, enquired of the royal, “Are you the real Prince Harry?” to which the Prince replied: “Yes, the other one is Ed Sheeran.”

See the resemblance?

Harry was reportedly left in stitches upon hearing the hilarious comment!

Harry roared with laughter before sharing the exchange with the Dean of Westminster, John Hall, who was walking alongside him.

“Did you hear what they just said?” he said, pointing toward the children.

Hilarious! He truly is the People’s Prince.
