Peaches Geldof’s widower Thomas Cohen moves on with Daisy Lowe

It’s been nearly two years since Peaches Geldof’s tragic death from a heroin overdose but now her widower Thomas Cohen is finally smiling again.

Walking hand-in-hand in the crisp winter sunshine in London on Wednesday, musician Thomas Cohen, 26, and model Daisy Lowe, 25, look like any new couple in the throes of a blossoming new romance.

But behind their smiles, there is a heartbreaking tale of deep loss.

In April 2014 at just 25 years old, Peaches Geldof, the mother of his two children, passed away in her home in Wortham, Kent.

Officials eventually ruled her cause of death was “opiate intoxication.”

“My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons Astala and Phaedra and I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts every day,” a devastated Thomas said in a statement at the time.

Peaches and Thomas married in 2012 and shared two beautiful sons.

Since her untimely death, Thomas has remained close to the star’s family and friends – including her father Bob Geldof and her sisters Tiger Lily, 19, Pixie, 25, Fifi, 32.

The once fractured family have banded together and helped Thomas raise his two young sons Astala, three, and Phaedra, two.

Among those helping the singer come to terms with his immeasurable loss, is Peaches’ close pal Daisy Lowe. The Brit it-girls mixed in the same London social circles.

Following a recent holiday to Miami, sources have told The Daily Mirror that Daisy and Thomas’ bond turned romantic.

“The past two years have been incredibly difficult for Tom. He is still so young, yet he has been bringing up two children on his own,” a pal revealed to the publication.

Daisy and Thomas later shared a kiss following their stroll around north London on Wednesday.

“He has known Daisy for years, but they are a lot closer since the holiday in Miami,” the insider added.

Meanwhile Daisy, whose father is Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale, revealed to InStyle last year she misses Peaches terribly.

“I think about her a lot. She’s very missed. Very loved. And I hope that she’s happy… happy up there,” she said.

The Geldof clan have been through their fair share of heartbreak over the years. In 2000, Bob’s first wife and Peaches’ mother Paula Yates was found dead at her London home from an accidental overdose.

And the eerily similar circumstances with Peaches’ death aren’t loss on Bob.

“You’re the father who is responsible and clearly failed. For anybody watching, who has a dead kid and you’re a parent. You go back, you go back, you go back, you go back, you go back, you go over, you go over. What could you have done? You do as much as you can,” he lamented over losing his daughter to ITV last year.

Last year the 64-year-old embarked on a fresh chapter and wed his partner of 19 years, Jeanne Marine, in a secret ceremony in France.

Thomas was one of the few guests invited to the VIP wedding and Bob says his grandchildren couldn’t have a better father.

“He’s a great guy, but importantly he’s a fantastic musician – really, really good. I’m so thrilled that I can go to the gigs and not have to say, ‘That was quite good.’ So it excites me actually, aside from the fact he’s Astala’s dad,” Bob explained of Thomas.

Last April, Peaches’ father Bob Geldof married his partner of 19 years Jeanne Marine.
