This is the age you’re most likely to cheat on your partner

In news that could have saved us a whole lot of tears, cheaters may now be able to be pin-pointed according to their age, careers and even their starsigns.

VictoriaMilan, a secretive dating site designed for adults seeking extra-marital affairs, has, over the years, conducted many studies in a bid to better understand their spark-seeking customers, and what they discovered may make you rethink A LOT about your current or blossoming relationship…

Unfortunately, not many of us are immune to the bitter sting of a cheater, and chances are if we had known just when, who and why it would occur, we certainly wouldn’t have taken that charming investment banker up on an espresso martini…

Below, we’ve collected some pivotal results from VictoriaMilan’s latest studies in an effort to save you, or anyone you know, from spending Valentine’s Day watching The Notebook with a bucket of fried chicken (although that sounds like a pretty fun way to spend a day, TBH).

When?

It turns out the seven-year-itch is a very real thing.

A recent survey of female users of all ages from around the world found the average age of infidelity to be 36.6 (assuming the woman was married by 29), or about seven to eight years after saying “I do”, Popsugar reports.

As to why this is, the dating platform speculates it’s at this age that women feel the need to reignite a spark in their relationship which might be missing.

“Married women start having affairs for various reasons,” VictoriaMilan founder Sigurd Vedal says.

“Perhaps their husband is not giving them the attention and respect they deserve. Perhaps they still love their partners, but the spark has vanished from their marriage.

“Alternatively, they may have an open relationship and both have affairs to satisfy their physical needs whilst still sharing a tight emotional bond.”

Who?

As Woman’s Day previously reported, some professionals have been exposed as more likely to get some on the side.

According to the data collected from a 2016 study, these are the top industries with the most to hide:

Finance (brokers, bankers, analysts)

Aviation (pilots, flight attendants, flight pursers)

Healthcare (doctors, nurses)

Business (CEOs, managers, secretaries)

Sports (athletes, instructors, representatives)

Arts (musicians, models, actors, photographers)

Nightlife Industry (DJs, dancers, waiters)

Legal (lawyers, secretaries, prosecutors, judges)

Communications (journalists, public relations, communicators)

If that doesn’t limit your options enough, it should also be noted that, over the course of the year, three star signs in particular were found to be the most adulterous.

The moon was in the seventh house for Aquarians, who made up 10.9 per cent cheating users. Pisces followed closely behind at 10.1 per cent, while 10 per cent were Aries.

Perhaps backing this data up is actress Kristen Stewart, who cheated on then-boyfriend Robert Pattinson, 30, with her Snow White And The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.

Why?

According to a 2014 study conducted by the controversial site, these are the top 10 reasons why women cheat:

He lacks a sense of humour (19 per cent)

He’s not understanding enough (16 per cent)

He’s not good in bed (14 per cent)

He lacks good manners (11 per cent)

He’s lazy and doesn’t have any life plans (10 per cent)

He doesn’t care about his appearance and has poor hygiene (9 per cent)

He’s not successful (7 per cent)

He doesn’t pay enough attention to details and social obligations (5 per cent)

He’s unable to clean up after himself and he’s a mummy’s boy (5 per cent)

He’s stingy (4 per cent)

It is at this point that we’d like to apologise that the dating pool suddenly looks like a puddle…
