A not-so-faithful French man is allegedly suing rideshare company Uber after a “glitch” in the app allowed his wife to track his adulterous movements.
The cheater, who hails from Côte d’Azur in the south, is seeking $AUD 62 million after claiming the technology flaw sent his pick-ups and destinations to his now-divorced wife’s phone, reports Le Figaro.
According to the publication, the man claimed to have signed into his Uber account using his wife’s iPhone, but after logging out, his notifications continued to appear on her device, ultimately leading to his marital demise.
“My client was the victim of a bug in an application,” the man’s lawyer, David-André Darmon, told AFP news, adding that his client hoped to be “discreet and anonymous” in his affair.
“The bug has caused him problems in his private life.”
Was it the bug, though? Or was it maybe you… Just sayin’.

It is unclear yet just how many of Uber’s 40 million monthly active users may be affected by the technological issue, but Le Figaro explains the glitch to affect iPhones running iOS versions older than December 2015.
Those panicking at this point will be comforted to hear that Android users, and iPhone users running the latest software, appear to be safe.
The takeaway: update your apps. Or, ya know, don’t be a cheater.
