Someone get this new mother a well earned drink!

The average newborn weighs about 3-5 kilos, this newborn weighedalmost twice that.

Maisie Lily Macdonald was born to Makaela Kirkby and her husband Mason Macdonald, at a whooping 13 pounds 4 ounces (6.02kg) at Rockhampton Hospital on September 4th.

Arriving one week early, Maisie has claimed the record of biggest baby born at Rockhampton hospital, according to a very excited Facebook post from the new dad.

“I’d like to introduce Maisie Lily Macdonald to everyone, weighing in at 13 pound 4 ounces (6.020 kilograms) claiming the record of biggest baby born at Rockhampton hospital,” he said.

“Welcome to the world and the family ya massive newborn.”

Maisie is also welcomed by her big sister, 17 month old Aubree Rose – who was quiet the large baby herself, born at 11.5lbs.

Oh, and to answer the question on everyone’s mind – the birth was a c-section.

Can we all please just take a minute and give a major hat tip to the Mother, Makaela.
