Bride breastfeeds during wedding ceremony

Even on her big day, this mum put her baby daughter’s needs before her own.

A bride has become an internet sensation after she breastfed her baby daughter during her wedding ceremony.

Christina Torino-Benton was in the church, preparing to exchange vows with her partner Danny Benton, when their six-month-old daughter Gemma – who was struggling in the Montreal heat and had missed her nap – started crying.

Without missing a beat, Christina scooped up Gemma and breastfed her as the ceremony continued.

“I don’t pump or bottle feed and I’m all about secure attachment parenting,” Christina told The Daily Mail.

“She’s never left to cry so when she started crying I couldn’t focus on my wedding. All I was thinking about was taking her and nursing because I knew that was the only solution.

“Once I got her in my arms, I was able to calm down and focus. A lot of people think that my feeding her mid-ceremony was a bother but actually it was nice having her up there with us. She is always a joy to have around.”

The couple’s wedding photographer snapped a sweet photo of the lovely moment between mother and child and Christina later shared the image on Facebook, where it quickly went viral.
