Bachie bub alert! WATCH ex-Bachelor star Bec Chin reveal the gender of her baby and try not to cry

And she exclusively opens up to Mother & Baby about the beautifully time-stopping moment...
The Bachelor's Bec Chin

There’s nothing that quite melts our hearts like a baby gender-reveal announcement (just last week, Turia Pitt and Michael Hoskin literally jumped for joy when they discovered they were having a baby boy and we cried harder than a teething newborn).

However, the tissues always seem to get a little soggier when you’re let in on a heart-warming story involving someone looking for love, them finding it and then deciding to make their love bubble that little bit bigger by adding a baby to the mix…

We’re not crying, you are.

^^ Us right now.

Turn back time to Sam Wood’s 2015 season of The Bachelor when we first met dietitian Bec Chin.

Bec soon became one of the show’s (and our) favourites, but, in the end, was sent home without a rose (that rose belonging to Sam’s now-fiance, and mum-to-be, Snezana Markoski).

Bec shot to fame as contestant on The Bachelor.

But hey, this worked out for everyone, with Bec then going on to meet her very own Prince Charming in Dean Vee, her partner of more than two years and soon-to-be father of the couple’s first child.

And just to make our hearts burst, Bec and Dean took to Instagram on Sunday, July 30 to share a monumental part of their pregnancy: the excited pair recorded the beautiful moment they discovered if they were expecting a boy or a girl…

And they’re having a…

LITTLE GIRL!

Opening up exclusively to Mother & Baby, Bec says that during this very raw-and-real moment, it was as if time had stopped.

“It was just me and Dean in the room, then suddenly everything fast forwarded and it all seems like such a blur now,” she explains.

“We were convinced it was a boy after the scan we had so it was a big surprise!”

And what does she love most about being pregnant?

Knowing she’s never alone.

“It still amazes me that there is a tiny human growing inside my belly. The love you have for it is like no other.”

“I’m sure it will be the biggest challenge but I have some incredible friends and family for support. I am trying to just be very open-minded. I am probably most nervous about sleep deprivation!”

Sleep deprivation aside, Bec is like many new expectant mums in that she is learning of some of the not-so-glamorous realities of being pregnant.

“There are so many unpleasantries that people don’t talk about,” she says. “Sure, you hear about the common morning sickness and lethargy but the bloating/discomfort (I’ll spare you the details!) I’ve endured has been next level.”

“I also wasn’t prepared for the mental challenge of it all in addition to the physical challenge.”

Despite this, Bec is lapping up her first-ever pregnancy – even though sometimes it can all feel a little (understandably) “scary”.

“It’s completely the unknown, which is scary, but it’s also all so exciting,” she continues.

We wish Bec and Dean all the best for the rest of their pregnancy – and we can’t wait to see their future with their little girl unfold!
