Sydney’s biggest open-air ice skating rink is back for Winterlight 2017

It’s the time of year again, July School holidays can be some of the toughest to manage.

It’s cold, dark and trying to keep the entire family happy can often end up being more full on than your day job.

Which is why parents, kids and that big kid that lives on inside all of us is rejoicing this week – following the announcement of the return of Parramatta’s much loved Winterlight festival.

This year, the festival includes Sydney’s biggest open-air ice skating rink, and if that’s not enough it will also offer Sydney’s only ice slide, a dedicated kid’s rink, a brand new snow play area, and an illuminated ferris wheel known as The Dream Wheel.

TICKET PRICES:

Smoothfm Ice Rink

45 minute sessions

Child (Under 5 years): $10

Junior (5-13 years): $18

Adult (14 years and above): $22

Family Special (2 Adults & 2 Children/Juniors): $60

Penguin Hire: $8

Kid’s Rink

20 minute sessions

Child (includes FREE penguin): $15

Suitable for children under 12 years. Parents and guardians are not permitted to skate on the kid’s rink however may accompany their child onto the ice with shoes at no additional cost.

Ice Skating Lessons

Fridays, 10am – 11am

$39 per person

Includes 1-hour skating lesson, an additional 45-minute skating session following the lesson, plus a free penguin.

Single ride: $4

3 slide package: $10

And it’s not just kids who are getting excited.

There are also at least two themed nights that people of all ages can take part in, including a Onesie Night and a dedicated Date Night.

ONESIE NIGHT

Wednesday 5 July | 5pm to 9pm

Join the Motel Sisters from 6pm for a fun night of onesie mayhem! Paris and Tacky Motel will be your fame-hungry and #blessed hosts, eager to bring the party to the ice, ice baby. Pick your favourite character or animal and get your friends and family into it too! There are prizes up for grabs for the best dressed.

DATE NIGHT

Wednesday 12 July | 5pm to 9pm

Bring your favourite person – partner, sibling, child or bestie – and share a magical skate under the stars!

The festival is open from Monday to Thursday, 11am till 10pm + Friday to Sunday 10am till 11pm.
