The bookies may have placed their bets on royal baby names for Duchess Catherine and Prince William’s third child (Alice or Victoria for a girl, Henry or Arthur for a boy), but up until now, only mum, dad and the family would be privy to such information as to whether the newborn will be a Prince or Princess.

With their past two children, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge never officially announced the genders of George and Charlotte until after the birth. However, some exciting new reports have emerged, dropping some clues as to whether we can expect a Princess Alice or a Prince Arthur.

According to the bookies, we could be expecting a Princess Alice.

Reported by UK paper the Daily Star, a source has revealed Kate’s pregnancy cravings which some believe lend major insight into a newborn’s gender.

Supposedly, the Duchess can’t stop eating spicy foods, and according to old wives’ tales, this means the Duchess is expecting a boy.

“She is suffering from nausea and morning sickness again, and she cannot stop eating spicy food and candy,” said the royal source.

Supposedly the Queen is thrilled by this news, with the royal source adding:

“Kate has talked to Queen Elizabeth about her motherhood plans, and she has been incredibly supportive.”

The source also said that Prince George is excited to welcome another brother or sister.

Prince William also dropped a hint that Duchess Catherine is past the 12-week mark while at a royal engagement last week.

“It’s very good news. There’s not much sleep going on at the moment,” he revealed.

“It was a bit anxious to start with, but we can start celebrating this week.”

So, set your royal baby calendars people – we’re expecting a March 2018 arrival!

While these reports may not give us too many solid facts to rely on, we shouldn’t dismiss them just yet. Let’s not forget the oddly accurate reports that emerged when the Duchess was expecting her second child, Charlotte.

A source tipped off a UK publication that Kate was expecting a girl when she was pregnant with Charlotte.

During her second pregnancy, UK publication RSVP claimed that Kate had ordered three tins of pink and lilac paint from global paint brand Annie Sloane.

“Three shades of paint were ordered from the designer company including a lilac called Henrietta, a soft pale pink with a hint of brown called Antoinette and a soft aubergine colour called Emile,” claimed the source suggesting that Kate was preparing for a little girl.

Well, they weren’t wrong.

So whether you believe the bookies who’s odds suggest that the Duchess and Duke of Cambridge are expecting a girl, or you listen to the UK papers who claim that a baby boy is on the way – royal baby fever is in full swing!
