North Carolina mother Amanda Bacon recently gave birth to her second child and uploaded a photo of herself wearing an adult diaper.
After just a few hours, it was shared tens of thousands of times because of its raw and honest look into how childbirth affects a woman’s body.
She captioned the candid photo ‘Motherhood uncensored’ and continued on in the post: “I’m sharing this picture because it’s real.”
“’This is motherhood; it’s raw, stunning, messy, and freaking hilarious all rolled into one.
“Having a baby is a beautiful experience, and the realities of postpartum life aren’t spoken enough about. And definitely not photographed enough.”
She continued: “We all should try and educate, empower and embrace every aspect of childbirth, including moments like this. And do it while having a sense of humor.
“Nothing says welcome to motherhood like an adorable squishy baby, and a giant mom diaper.”
We’re sure many mothers can relate to this, and we’re proud Amanda is talking about a topic that is often taboo.
Amanda and her husband now have two children, Kaelyn, and newborn Pierson.
