Last week, a 19-year-old woman from Iran drew the attention of the world media for reportedly having 50 plastic surgeries in a bid to look like her idol, Angelina Jolie.

According to Belgian website Sud Info, Sahar Tabar had all of the procedures in a matter of months and Sahar “would do anything” to look like Ange.

Sahar’s unique look was so extreme, some questioned whether it had indeed been achieved through surgery or whether it was perhaps the work of prosthetics or makeup.

Now the young woman herself appears to have confirmed it’s not extensive surgery, as previously reported by Sud Info.

She reportedly diets to maintain an extremely worrying 40kg frame.

‘Online fact-checking website’ Scopes posted a statement from Sahar’s Instagram page which has since been removed. It reads:

“Hello relatively dear followers, the picture that you’re scrutinizing, even though I didn’t like it, I kept it in … I must say I only had [indeterminate number of] surgery, not 50 surgeries, and foreign sites and channels were very biased in the way they talked about my photos. I thought these people are probably living in the 18th century and they haven’t seen or heard of technology or makeup and they are really surprised.”

So it sounds like Sahar could be saying she’s had some surgeries but not 50 and ‘technology and makeup’ have enhanced her look.

Her photographs prompted many to worry about the extreme measures she’s taken and she was subjected to a barrage of negative comments which perhaps explains why her Instagram account is now set to private.
