William Tyrrell's parents identified for first time after landmark court ruling

A shock new celebrity connection to missing toddler William Tyrrell has emerged since his biological parents were officially named due to a landmark court decision. William’s biological mother is Karlie Tyrrell and his biological father is called Brendan.

Daily Mail Australia reports since the court ruling, it can now be revealed that 5 Seconds Of Summer guitarist Michael Clifford, 21, is William’s uncle.

Michael and William’s biological father Brendan, 36, share the same father – Daryl Clifford.

Daily Mail Australia notes the Clifford family have only had minor involvement in William’s life and it’s understood William’s father has battled drug and alcohol problems and has also served time in prison.

5 Seconds of Summer are one of Australia’s hottest exports, selling out arenas all over the world.

It really is an astonishing connection to Australia’s most famous missing boy. The connection was only made after the court ruling.

William was taken into foster care when he was nine months old and was in his foster grandmother’s home in Kendall, New South Wales when he vanished.

Statutory restrictions previously prevented the fact he was in foster care from becoming public knowledge but a Supreme Judge has now deemed this information to be “legitimate public interest”.

William was therefore in the parental responsibility of the NSW Minister for the Department of Family and Community Services (FACS) when he went missing.

It’s been almost three years since the toddler vanished and heartbreakingly, Supreme Court of NSW judge Justice Brereton is also quoted as noting “the tragic probability that (William) is no longer alive”.

The three-year-old toddler vanished while wearing his Spiderman suit on the morning of September 12, 2014, and police are still searching for answers as to what happened.

Strike Force Rosann has been charged with solving the case since 2014 and the NSW government put up an unprecedented $1 million reward for information that leads to this recovery.

William would have turned six years old in June.
