Terminally ill cancer patient’s nipple pic banned by Facebook

Facebook bans one woman's attempt to raise awareness of unusual breast cancer symptoms.

When Rowena Kincaid shared a picture of her nipple on Facebook she wasn’t being rude, lewd, or trout pouting in the bathroom mirror whilst topless.

She was showing a picture of a nipple that had a rash that was actually cancer reports Daily Mail.

Rowena Kincaid is dying of breast cancer and if she could let just one person know that a lump is not the only symptom of breast cancer then she felt she was doing a good thing.

The 40-year-old Cardiff lady let more than one person know, in fact, in just two hours 72,000 people saw it, but when Rowena went to look again at her post, Facebook had removed it saying it violated their nudity policy.

Rowena, who has secondary stage-four cancer, has a Facebook page called Before I Kick The Bucket, with 10,000 followers and an upcoming documentary of the same name. She wrote to her followers of her deep disappointment in the social media platform.

‘It doesn’t see what the reason behind it is, it’s just automatic,’ she wrote. ‘It can’t see that the picture I posted earlier, may actually save lives.

‘I’m obviously totally gutted, as it took a lot to share my picture with you, because I’m so body conscious, and fretted about sharing at all.’

Rowena posted the image a second time after she drew a funny face on the nipple, and that appeared to no longer violate any nudity rules as it was not removed and Rowena’s important message can still be shared.
