Surprise! Labouring mother arrives at hospital to find out she’s already given birth

An expectant mother was rushed to hospital, only to be asked, "Where is the baby?"

Talk about a surprise delivery!

A woman in Guangdong, China, has arrived at hospital in the midst of labour only to find out that she’d already given birth – without knowing it.

Ms Qi, who was in the late stages of labour, was on the back of her husband’s motorcycle on the way to the hospital. When she arrived, the doctor on call noticed that her pants were soaked with blood and that she had already passed the placenta.

Confused, the doctor asked her, “Where is the baby?”

Ms Qi was horrified to find out that, whilst on the back of the motorcycle, she had unknowingly given birth to her son, who had slipped out the leg of her trousers and onto the busy road.

Panicked, Ms Qi’s husband and a group of medical staff immediately returned to the road to see that a group of motorists had found the baby, covered in blood, and were taking care of him on the side of the road.

Luckily for Ms Qi and her husband, their son was found without any major injuries; save for a few ‘superficial’ cuts and bruises.
