Severed pig’s head found outside Islamic school gates in Brisbane

In truly disgusting news, delinquents in Brisbane, Queensland, have left a severed pig’s head at the school gates of the Islamic College of Brisbane.

The gruesome discovery is being called a hate crime by staff at the Islamic school, with police now investigating.

The rotting head was concealed in a backpack with a swastika on it and was found by staff early this morning, just hours before children were due to come through the gates.

A police spokesman said investigations were under way after officers were called to the school at Karawatha. The officers have been given CCTV footage that reportedly show the items being left by two men in a Subaru WRX.

Ali Kadri, a spokesman for the Islamic council of Queensland urged people to call this form of extremism out:

“Not talking about it just doesn’t help. It’s important to show that there is so much extremism out there that people will get up at six in the morning to do these kind of things,” he said.”

It’s by no means the first time Muslims have been specifically targeted in this way.

In December 2015, a severed pig’s head was found in a toilet mosque and there were several [arson attacks](http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-04-17/fire-seriously-damages-toowoomba-mosque-qld/6399340 on mosques in both Queensland and Perth.
