Police free baby “forgotten” by parents and left in hot car

Temperatures soared well above 40C

A baby boy who was “forgotten” by his parents had to be rescued from a car as temperatures soared above 40C.

Police discovered the 14-month-old boy locked inside a white Hyundai i30 in a car park in Perth around 9:40 am.

A WA Police spokeswoman said the baby boy was “crying” and “sweating” when officers smashed a window to rescue him, Perth Now reports.

It is believed the child had only been left in the car a few minutes and was assessed at the scene.

No charges were laid as police established the parent had “genuinely forgotten the child.”
