One Nation candidate says single mums are too “lazy” to hold a partner

David Archibald says that “this will result in a rapid rise in the portion of the population that is lazy and ugly".

Following her unnecessarily slanderous, fat-shaming comments against Women’s March protesters in Brisbane last month, Pauline Hanson’s right-wing One Nation party is facing scrutiny once again.

However, this time, it’s not the nationalist leader who’s got herself into hot water; it’s Western Australian candidate David Archibald.

In a resurfaced online article that was published by Mr Archibald, who is currently vying for the WA seat of Pilbara, on Quadrant Online’s website in March 2015, slams single mothers, calling for welfare programs that to be cut because of their “lifestyle choices”.

“These are women too lazy to attract and hold a mate, undoing the work of possibly three million years of evolutionary pressure,” he wrote.

“This will result in a rapid rise in the portion of the population that is lazy and ugly. We know what causes pregnancy these days, so everyone who gets pregnant outside of marriage is a volunteer.”

“This is an easy one for defunding.”

Not only that, but Mr Archibald also called for the government to cut back on government funding for Aussies on a disability pension.

“Second, the 800,000 Australians on the disability pension. OK, not all of them. But a good proportion are able to drive cars, bash police and each other, go fishing and so on,” he wrote.

“We often hear about disability pensioners because their active lifestyle resulted in a contretemps with another party, most recently the recipients of disability payments who have overcome their infirmities to take up arms against civilisation in Syria and Iraq.”

Wait… what?

In a worryingly fitting summation of his controversial article, Mr Archibald concluded, “That is a few for starters. There are plenty more.”

Archibald confirmed to the ABC that he stands by his comments just yesterday.

As reported by SBS, Federal Labour frontbencher Anthony Albanese, who was raised by a single mother, is demanding One Nation dismiss Mr Archibald as a candidate for the state election due to be held on March 11.

“The idea that if you have a single mother you are somehow less of a human being, really belongs way back in the dark ages,” he said.

Another day, another man in office offending thousands of women across the country, all at the same time…
