Man who went viral last year for the sweetest reason confirmed among dead in Manchester attack

Martyn Hett has been named as one of the 22 victims of the Manchester terror attack.

The 29-year-old might be familiar to some after his gorgeous gesture for his mum went viral late last year.

Martyn’s mum makes little knitted gifts and was failing to sell any of her handmade items at a charity craft fair.

In November 2016, Martyn posted the sad picture he was sent from his mum to his Twitter page and immediately got an overwhelming response.

His Twitter followers began to ask where they could buy Martyn’s mum’s knitted creations and started purchasing them from her online shop.

His mum sold her whole stock and news of her son’s beautiful gesture made headlines worldwide.

Martyn’s gorgeous nature really shone through on the social network as you can see in his replies to other users:

Tributes are now flowing in for “wonderful iconic and beautiful” Martyn following the suicide nail bombing in Manchester, his boyfriend Russell Hayward confirming the devastating news.

Just a few days ago, Martyn posted a picture of his leaving party – he was due to visit America for 2 months.

Martyn was a former winner of reality show Come Dine With Me and a graduate of both the University of Liverpool and University of Arts London.

Our deepest condolences go out to Martyn’s family and friends at this devastating time.
