According to several reports out of South Korea, Kim Jong-un’s half-brother has been assassinated in Malaysia.
Kim Jong-nam, the older half-sibling of the North Korean leader, was killed as he passed through Kuala Lumpur airport.
TV Chosun, a local media source, are reporting that “multiple government sources,” say the 45-year-old was killed after being attacked by two women with “poisoned needles.”
The two women, who are believed to be North Korean agents, escaped after the attack in a taxi and remain at large.
Speaking with the AFP, an anonymous Malaysian official says that Jong-nam was taken to the airport’s clinic before dying on the way to the hospital.
His death has subsequently been confirmed by Malaysian police.
Kim Jong-nam who shares the same father with Kim Jong-un – late dictator Kim Jong-il – fell out of favour with his brother after he attempted to enter Japan on a false passport.
The trip was scheduled so that Kim Jong-nam could visit Tokyo Disneyland.
Kim Jong-nam has reportedly been living in Macau, Singapore and Malaysia in recent years.

Kim Jong-un, the controversial leader, famously made headlines last year when he began to spruik dog meat as a “superfood.”
At the time, North Korean media were seen to plug out stories which encouraged people to eat dog meat, with channel DPRK Today even suggesting the meat was good for the intestines and stomach and contained more vitamins than beef or chicken.
Yep, they promoted it as a stamina-inducing superfood…
Oh, and according to the Korea Times, the dog should be beaten to death and its fur removed before being scorched to improve its taste.
Radio broadcaster Tongil Voice even described dog stew as the “finest medicine.”
In neighbouring South Korea, many animal activists have protested the practice of butchery.
