The former champion water polo player was sentenced to a minimum of 13.5 years in prison for the 1996 murder of her baby daughter.

Just last December, the NSW Court of Criminal Appeal also rejected her appeal.

Today was Lane’s final attempt to have her murder conviction and sentence overturned.

But justices Virginia Bell and Patrick Keane refused her application. Lane’s partner Patrick Cogan was in court today to hear the decision.

Lane has always maintained her innocence despite her daughter going missing following her birth at Auburn Hospital on September, 12 1996.
