Donald Trump has unsurprisingly taken a swipe at the Oscars 2017 for the epic mistake that was La La Land being awarded Best Picture when Moonlight was the real winner.
The only surprising thing is that he didn’t let his tweets do the talking for once, and refrained from using his medium of choice, even when host Jimmy Kimmel goaded him.
Instead, he gave an interview to Breitbart saying that it was Hollywood’s obsession with him that led to the blunder.
“I think they were focused so hard on politics that they didn’t get the act together at the end,” Trump said.
“It was a little sad. It took away from the glamour of the Oscars. It didn’t feel like a very glamorous evening. I’ve been to the Oscars. There was something very special missing, and then to end that way was sad.”
During the ceremony, Trump and his politics came up a number of times. Jimmy Kimmel jokingly borrowed Trump’s line about “overrated” Meryl Streep, and TWO winners weren’t present because of Trump’s immigration ban.
And hey, President Trump, we know who was to blame for the fiasco. Sorry buddy, but it wasn’t all about you.
Brian Cullinan, an accountant from PricewaterhouseCoopers was supposed to discard the spare Best Actress envelope and hand Warren Best Picture. He’s definitely having a bad day.
