Brothel receptionist says Cassie was popular, but unreliable

She rejects earlier claims the accused drug-mule was a "tubby" failure.

In terms of Cassie Sainsbury’s current problems, being called “tubby” by a former brothel madam probably doesn’t make its way into the top 10.

However, a former receptionist at Club 220 had deemed it imperative to correct Pamela Feranchi’s comments that Cassie “wasn’t the most popular girl, God love her – she was a bit tubby, even though she was a personal trainer”.

Suzie told news.com.au that if anything, the older escorts envied the young South Australian, who was hot property at the club.

“Club 220 is a cougar brothel,” she said. “There was no one her age or even close working there.

“The company paid for her to fly in and fly out. We used to get girls from Queensland, WA and New Zealand who wanted to do this work but not in her area.

The unidentified source claims this is Cassie.

“We did a lot of advertising for her, professional photos, a lot of marketing work.”

Suzie reportedly regularly booked a lot of clients for 19-year-old “Claudia” – Cassie’s alias – and she was given accommodation by the firm.

“The issue with the other girls was you were getting clients saying, ‘Where’s Claudia? Where’s Claudia?’ Other girls would lose work because there was no comparison, 19 compared to a 40-year-old.”

However, Suzie wasn’t entirely glowing on her review of the accused drug-mule.

“She was highly unreliable and a bit of a diva,” said the former receptionist. “She would not turn up, be late, just not be contactable. She was extremely difficult to work with.”

Seeing as the madam previously said that Cassie didn’t want to do the work – that “no girl chooses to be a sex worker unless they absolutely have to” – it’s probably understandable the job got a bit much at times.

Cassie has now changed her initial story as to why she was discovered with nearly six kilograms of cocaine in her luggage. Her lawyer Orlando Herran has now said she responded to a Craigslist ad after finding herself in financial strife.

Herran claimed she tried to back out of the deal at the last minute before threats were made against her life and her family.

“Cassandra isn’t a bad person, Herran told 60 Minutes. “She is a young girl with a… mistake.”
